1. Newsletter

Ready to get started on the Ad Network? First, you'll add some details about your newsletter and the subscribers.

1: In the Newsletter Details section, use the form fields to enter your newsletter name, website URL, and a brief description of your audience.

2: When you’re done, click Next.

2. Placements

Next, you'll decide where ads should appear in your newsletter template.

1: In the Placements section, decide how many ad units you want to add. Most people start with 1.

2: Pick your ad unit positions.

3: When you’re done, click Next.

3. Settings

In this step, you'll choose how you'd like to load your ads.

1: In the Domain section, make your selection:

  • Connect my subdomain (recommended)
You can add and configure a Subdomain for Ad Delivery and load all ads from your own subdomain. This is recommended for better email deliverability.

  • Stay on the shared domain
If you are unable to configure a subdomain, you can use Paved’s shared domain and skip this step.

2: Click Next to continue.

4. Ad Unit Codes

After you've set your domain preferences, you're ready to preview your ad and paste the ad’s CSS and HTML code snippets into your newsletter. This allows you to activate the ad unit.

Preview and Edit Your Ad

1: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the pencil icon to open preview mode.

Here, you can preview your ad or make design changes.

2: Optional: customize your ad design, font, image selection, and more.

3: When you're happy with the ad design, click Save and Close.

Paste the Ad to Your Email Template

1: In the Select ESP section, choose your email service provider (ESP).

2: Scroll to find your ad unit’s CSS Code and click Copy Code.

3: In a new tab, log in to your ESP account.

4: Open the HTML view of your newsletter template.

5: Paste the CSS code at the top of your newsletter, just above the </head> tag (or at the top of your email template).

6. Return to Paved.

7: Scroll to find the ad’s HTML Code and click Copy Code.

8: Paste the HTML code in your template where you want the ad to appear.

9: Save your changes and keep the template open.

10: Back in Paved, click Next.

5. Review

Almost there! On the final step, you’ll submit your ad for review. The Paved team will check to make sure everything looks great before it’s officially live.

1: Copy the unique @review.paved.com email address you see onscreen

2: In your email client, send us a test email containing the ad network placement.

3: After you send us a copy of your newsletter template, click Finish.

Next Steps

After setup, we’ll review your ad’s code to check that it works properly. The review and approval process usually takes one business day.

You’ll receive an email notification once your ad unit is approved. After that, Paved will automatically serve native, relevant ads for your readers.

You’ll earn for each verified ad click, and payouts are sent monthly. Learn more about your earnings in our guide: Ad Network Payouts.
